Tzimtzum — Privacy Policy

Tzimtzum ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Tzimtzum mobile application ("App"). Please read it carefully.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address

  • Password (stored securely and encrypted — we never store it in plain text)

Usage and Progress Data. We store data about your in-app activity, including:

  • Courses, lessons, and sections you have completed

  • Quiz scores and test results

  • Points and progress milestones

  • Practical task completion

Device and Technical Data. We may automatically collect:

  • Device type and operating system version

  • App version

  • Crash reports and error logs (used solely for debugging and improving the App)

We do not collect: payment information, precise location, contacts, camera or microphone access, or any sensitive personal data beyond what is listed above.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account

  • To save and sync your learning progress across sessions

  • To send password-reset emails when requested by you

  • To improve the App and fix technical issues

  • To send optional push notifications about new content or reminders (you can disable these in your device settings at any time)

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider that employs industry-standard encryption and security practices. Progress data may also be stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use Supabase for database and authentication services. They process data only on our behalf and in accordance with this policy.

  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

  • Business transfers: In the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, with prior notice provided to users.

5. Push Notifications

The App may request permission to send push notifications (for example, daily learning reminders). You can grant or revoke this permission at any time through your device's Settings app. We do not use notifications for marketing from third parties.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Delete your account and all associated data

  • Opt out of push notifications via device settings

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — authentication and database

  • Expo / EAS — app build and over-the-air updates

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
